Land Gold Women Wins ‘Best Film’ Award

It feels like a long time ago now, but earlier this year Rewired worked on the premiere for ‘Land Gold Women’, the first feature film to explore the subject of honour killings.

Since its premiere, the film has gone from strength to strength, gaining support across the world for its controversial subject matter. Now the film has picked up the Foreign Correspondent Association’s Purple Orchid Award for ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best Script/Screenplay’ at the Asian Festival of First Films in Singapore.

The festival ran from 28 November – 5 December, and showcased emerging Asian talent. It saw over 700 entries vying for just 11 awards.

It’s great to see the film, which was shot entirely in Birmingham, receiving international recognition. Congratulations to Avantika Hari (Writer/Director) and Vivek Agrawal (Producer).
