Today’s an exciting day at Rewired as we have been confirmed as the official PR Agency for International Dance Festival Birmingham 2010.
Taking place 19 April - 16 May 2010, the festival, which is run by DanceXchange and Birmingham Hippodrome, will showcase a huge range of dance styles at venues across both the city and the region.

Some of this year's highlights include:
A new solo Kathak work by acclaimed choreographer Akram Khan; the National Ballet of Cuba featuring guest appearances by Carlos Acosta; Mark Morris Dance Group with the orchestra of English National Opera; Strictly Come Dancing – The Professionals; Sutra, a stunning dance piece featuring 17 monks from the original Shaolin Temple in China; and C!RCA, a thoroughly new circus show combining dance with awe inspiring acrobatics. There will also be a host of other activities and events including free outdoor spectaculars, a weekend for children and families, and many opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to take part.
IDFB 2010 is being funded by Advantage West Midlands, Arts Council England West Midlands, and Birmingham City Council, with Brewin Dolphin announced as a new sponsor for the festival. BBC Radio WM has come on board as a Media Partner and Crowne Plaza has been confirmed as the Accomodation Partner.
We’re really excited about working on the festival, so look out for more information and exciting plans over the coming weeks and in to the New Year.
There are already plans for the Rewired team to start dance lessons, so we’ll be sure to start blogging about it so you can track our progress (or not, as the case may be). With any luck, this time next year we’ll be on Strictly Come Dancing!
