Tormented Premiere
- Tormented is an irreverent high school horror, a witty and shocking story of a bullied, asthmatic teenager who returns from the dead to take revenge on his teenage tormentors. The film stars a talented and exciting young cast including Alex Pettyfer (Stormbreaker), April Pearson (Skins), Larissa Wilson (Skins), Olly Alexander (Enter The Void, Bright Star), Mary Nighy (Marie Antoinette, ‘Spooks’), Georgia King (The Duchess), Tom Hopper (Saxon, ‘Casualty’), Calvin Dean (The Duchess, Mixed Up), Dimitri Leonidas (‘Grange Hill’, ‘Casualty’), and newcomer Tuppence Middleton.
- Tormented is the debut feature film from director Jon Wright and writer Stephen Prentice. It was partly funded by Screen WM and was shot in three Birmingham locations.
- Rewired PR was appointed by Screen WM to deliver the PR and Event Management for the premiere of ‘Tormented in Birmingham.
- The premiere took place at Birmingham’s Cineworld, with the afterparty at Gatecrasher.
- The pre-screening drinks reception was themed in red and black to reflect the film’s branding. All event staff wore black and white ‘school uniforms’ with prefect badges and ties, and local cartoonist Alex Hughes was employed to create a blackboard chalk drawing of the film’s iconic ‘smilies’ as the guests arrived.
- Rewired PR secured a media partnership with Sony Radio Academy Station of the Year, Kerrang! which included airtime, competitions and a guest introduction to the premiere by Kerrang! Drive Time presenters, Kate Lawler and OJ Borg.
- The premiere was attended by 200 VIP guests, cast, crew and media.
- Coverage was also achieved in regional newspapers, radio, online and on ITV Central News.
- The total PR value of the press coverage achieved for the premiere was over £260,000.
