Appy Rice Media launches new iPod game

Birmingham based digital production agency Rice Media has had immediate success after it launched its first iPod game ‘Blobstacle’.
Rice Media specialises in bespoke web development, search engine optimisation (SEO) and web design and, with the introduction of Blobstacle, has broadened the services they offer by designing and creating iPhone applications.
The game uses the iPhone tilt function or ‘accelerometer’ to help Blobstacle hop, jump, bounce and dodge through a range of difficult city environments and had over 2,000 downloads on the first day of it launching on the App Store, receiving a four star rating.
Paul Rice, Managing Director at Rice Media said:
“We wanted to diversify the work we do and start to make our own games for the App Store. We also wanted to understand the mechanics of iPhone Apps a little more in order to add another layer of service to our clients.
“Blobstacle is a great casual game that uses the beautiful ‘accelerometer’ in the phone in order to allow you to control the character through devious challenges levels of difficulty. It is a lot of fun and amazingly addictive- we are really pleased with the finished product.”
The game is available worldwide and already featured by Apple in 83 countries.
