BBC gets Top Teeth from Fish in a Bottle
BBC Ireland has teamed up with digital agency Fish in a Bottle to create a series of online educational games to teach children about the importance of oral hygiene.
Entitled ‘Top Teeth’, the games were created by Fish in a Bottle with the help of food health and teeth specialists.
Aimed at 7 – 9 year olds, ‘Top Teeth’ promotes healthy teeth and heightens awareness of dental health for children in Northern Ireland using characters which were designed and created by Fish in a Bottle.
In addition to the games, the site contains animations, puzzles and top tips as well as advice for adults and notes for teachers.

Fish in a Bottle has developed a number of interactive projects for the BBC such as the BAFTA nominated ‘In the Night Garden’. This project is the first time the digital agency and BBC Ireland have worked together and, after winning a competitive pitch against other companies, were chosen to create the online content.
Rob Sloan, Senior Account Manager at Fish in a Bottle stated, “The main challenge is getting children to engage with and enjoy educational games. Ultimately, if the games are not fun then kids won’t play them”.
“By using instantly recognisable gaming formats as well as keeping the games very simple with minimal instructions, the kids can easily pick them up and start playing” he added.
The games have been integrated into the BBC Ireland website. To play them click here.
