BCMG appoints new design and brand agency

D8'S KEITH DODD AND BCMG'S ROB LANGLEY (L-R) GET TO WORK

Birmingham based D8 have been appointed as Birmingham Contemporary Music Group’s (BCMG) new Design and Brand development agency.

D8, which is housed in the city’s Custard Factory complex, were selected after a multi-agency pitch which attracted over 40 submissions.

BCMG Marketing Manager Rob Langley said: “We had an overwhelming response to our initial tender and the standard of work was extremely high. In the end D8 came out on top because of their enthusiasm, experience, their understanding of the challenges BCMG face, and the solutions they saw to tackle these challenges through striking visual communication.

D8 have previously worked with the BBC, First Light Movies and Glasgow School of Art. Keith Dodds, Creative Director of the company, said: “We’re delighted that BCMG selected us from such strong opposition. The challenge now is to produce work that’s as vibrant, exciting and innovative as they are, to help bring BCMG to the wider audience they deserve. We can’t wait to get started.”

BCMG, formed in 1987 and based at CBSO centre in Birmingham, is established as one of Europe’s leading ensembles, and tours in the UK and abroad. The group has won many awards for its work in attracting new audiences for contemporary music, and has an extensive learning programme, engaging a wide range of people with the composition and performance of new music.
