Cadbury World hosts charity football match for St. Mary’s Hospice
On Friday 17th September, Cadbury World will be hosting a special Spots v Stripes Charity football match to help raise money for St. Mary’s Hospice.
The match will take place this Friday on the Cadbury recreational ground with the Cadbury World team battling it out against a team from Ceramic Tile Distributors. The football match ties in with the recent launch of Cadbury’s Spots v Stripes 2012 Olympic programme, which aims to encourage the entire nation to come out and play. During the match, the Cadbury World team will adopt spots and the CTD team will wear stripes.
For those wishing to support the teams, the match will kick off at 6pm and an EA gaming hub will also be on site offering online gaming. Following the match players and supporters will be invited to a presentation and buffet at the Cadbury Club.
Lucy Giaquinto, Marketing Manager at Cadbury World said:
“Cadbury World fully supports Cadbury’s Spots v Stripes 2010 Olympic programme to get people more active and we thought it would be really fun to combine this with a charity football match. We’re passionate about supporting local charities and are pleased to get the opportunity to help raise money for such an important and well respected Birmingham charity.”
Since its launch in 1979, St Mary’s Hospice has cared for tens of thousands of people with conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease and MS. The nurses at the charity are renowned for offering a better quality of life for people suffering from the illnesses.
Cadbury World first opened in 1990 and has attracted 8 million visitors during that period. With 14 different zones, Cadbury World offers visitors the opportunity to taste warm liquid Dairy Milk chocolate in ‘Essence’ and then work it off by playing in chocolate rain in the interactive ‘Purple Planet’ zone.
