Free Workshop Gives Young People A Crash Course in Composing

Young people with a passion for making music can get a free crash course in composing and improvisation this Easter.
Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG) is holding a two day workshop for 14-18 year olds next Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 April, led by composer Duncan Chapman and BCMG musicians.
The workshop will culminate in a special performance for friends and family on the Thursday evening.
Rob Langley, Marketing Manager for BCMG said:
“Composing and improvisation are fantastic ways to express your creativity. Our workshops provide a fun and supportive environment for young people to make music together, and in the company of professional musicians.”
The workshop will take place at the CBSO Centre, Berkley Street in Birmingham. Participants must be able to attend both days, and need to play a musical instrument or be a confident singer. All attendees will receive a CD of the music created during the workshop, as well as free tickets to a BCMG concert.
To book a free place, visit www.bcmg.org.uk or call 0121 616 2616.
