Dub 2 Dubstep Winter UK Tour Announced

An exclusive, UK-wide Dub 2 Dubstep tour will be kicking off this November at selected venues across the country - Demonstrating the musical connection between dub reggae and dubstep music. This maverick tour will feature four artists whose styles and musical selections are legendary within the dub reggae and dubstep scenes.
The tour will take place from 28 November – 10 December 2009:

The line-up features Channel One Sound System, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year and who are widely acknowledged as one of the top dub reggae soundsystems in the world. Channel One, with Mikey Dread as selector and Ras Kayleb as MC, will bring their custom built soundsystem to each venue. The soundsystem, with its rich bass heavy sound, is used to showcase their heavyweight selection of old and new dub reggae classics which have kept crowds across the globe jumping.
Next in the line-up is The Uplifter who has been playing roots, reggae dub and traditional Jamaican ska music across the globe since 2003. His set offers a twist on dub that includes live visuals, animated art projections, live percussion, vocalists and an explosive live DJ set.
Alongside Channel One and The Uplifter is JazZstePpa, one of the UK’s leading dup step acts. Their music has recently been picked up by BBC Radio 1 and gained recognition across the UK and Europe. The group is fascinated by the world of sound experimentation and are recognised as the first group to play dubstep accompanied by live, acoustic instruments.
Kromestar is one of the biggest names in the Dubstep scene today, with a number of high profiled releases which have received huge accolades around the world.
Well known for his unique and extremely diverse and precise production, his mixing style complements and lives up to his reputation. Kromestar is one of the most sort after DJ’s on the circuit, with shows and tours around the globe and guest slots on radios shows like BBC 1xtra and the world famous Rinse FM.
Rob Smith aka RSD is the final act on the line-up. Hailing from Bristol, his career began in the 1980s as a guitarist for a reggae band. Since then he has produced a number of songs including Massive Attack’s first single Any Love. RSD’s passion for dub and bass mixed with his reggae roots fuse together to create his own unique sound.
The Dub 2 Dubstep Tour promises to bring together a fusion of dub and reggae beats, through the sound system, acts and DJ’s that will be taking to the stage.
