Great snakes! Millennium Point on hunt for Tintin lookalikes

Millennium Point is gearing up for the launch of its new Giant Screen digital cinema later this month and, to help mark the occasion, is searching for the Midlands’ most convincing Tintin lookalikes.
The Giant Screen at Millennium Point officially opens on Tuesday 25 October with an exclusive gala presentation of the new performance capture 3D film The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn starring Jamie Bell and directed by Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg.
To coincide with the launch, The Giant Screen at Millennium Point is looking for dead-ringers of Hergé’s curious adventurer and local lookalikes have the chance to get on the exclusive guest list for the red carpet event.
Karen Steed, acting Chief Executive of Millennium Point said: “I’m thrilled about the new cinema, and especially pleased that members of the public will have the chance to come along and see for themselves what an enormous difference the new technology has made.
“With his strawberry blonde hair, Tintin is an unmistakeable icon for people of all ages and this is just the first of a raft of exciting new features we’ll be showing at The Giant Screen in future.”
Ten Tintin lookalikes will win guest list tickets for them and a friend to attend the VIP launch event on Tuesday 25 October plus a special Tintin goodie bag. Tintin lookalikes are invited to enter by emailing their photo to tintin@giantscreencinema.co.uk, uploading a photo at www.facebook.com/giantscreen or posting a photo to Tintin Competition, The Giant Screen at Millennium Point, Curzon Street, Birmingham B4 7XG.
Parents of young Tintins can also upload photos of their little lookalikes to enter on their behalf. Closing date is Thursday 20 October.
This VIP Launch event will be the culmination of a major overhaul on the cinema which will see Millennium Point become home to the Midlands’ largest independent digital 3D cinema. For more information about the Giant Screen cinema visit www.giantscreencinema.co.uk.
