Leading Ladies enjoy a cracker of an event
Birmingham Hippodrome’s network for professional women, Leading Ladies, enjoyed its second sell-out event recently with over 60 guests attending a special reception and performance of Birmingham Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker.
Guests also had the opportunity to enjoy a pre-show Q&A with Jessica Ward, Principal of Elmhurst School of Dance and Robert Parker, Birmingham Royal Ballet Principal who takes the part of Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker.
Leading Ladies was launched this summer and meets on a quarterly basis to offer an alternative to traditional networking events by giving them a theatrical twist. The network also raises money for Birmingham Hippodrome’s Stage Appeal, with over £2,000 raised to date.
Birmingham Hippodrome Development Trustee Fiona Alexander, from University Hospitals Birmingham, said: “I’m enormously pleased that the events have proven so popular, and I think that’s because they offer something totally different to existing networking evenings whilst still giving guests the chance to make new contacts.
“We’re already looking forward to what 2012 will bring and our next Leading Ladies event!”
The next Leading Ladies event will coincide with a 20th anniversary performance of Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker! at the Hippodrome in February 2012.
Birmingham Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker runs until 11 December 2011. Tickets are available on 0844 338 5000 or online at www.birminghamhippodrometickets.com.
