Rewired appoints Sir Bernard Zissman as chairman

Ruth Pipkin, managing director of Rewired PR with the company's new chairman, Sir Bernard Zissman
Rewired PR has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Sir Bernard Zissman as chairman.
Sir Bernard’s appointment is announced as the company celebrates its third birthday.
Ruth Pipkin, managing director at Rewired PR said: “I first met Sir Bernard at Birmingham University 11 years ago where, as a History undergraduate, I worked as a researcher on his first book. We have stayed in touch ever since and Sir Bernard’s extensive experience within both the public and private sectors has been a huge support and inspiration to me.
“Rewired has grown beyond my expectations within the first three years, and by combining Sir Bernard’s considerable business expertise with the innovation and ambition of the team I’m confident that we will continue to develop apace and offer an unrivalled service to our clients.”
A former Lord Mayor of Birmingham and senior City Councillor, Sir Bernard has enjoyed a busy political and business career. He led the team which developed the International Convention Centre and Symphony Hall, and was instrumental in the development of Millennium Point. The appointment will also see Rewired take on Sir Bernard’s presentation and training consultancy, Confident Communications.
Sir Bernard Zissman said: “Birmingham’s reputation as an innovative centre for the creative and communication industries is growing by the day. For me to join at this time the young and professional team at Rewired is both exciting and challenging as the company reaches out beyond our city to expand its client base. ”
Based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, Rewired PR was awarded the CIPR Midlands PRide Award for Outstanding Small Consultancy in 2009 and 2010.
