Style Birmingham Model Search Winners Announced

Style Birmingham has announced the winners of this year’s Model Search; a campaign to find the new faces of Birmingham’s fashion scene. The five winners, all from the Midlands, will appear at events across the city including the official Catwalk Show at next week’s The Sunday Times Style in the City (24-26 September 2009).

From the hundreds of entries received through Stylebirmingham.com, ten male and ten females were shortlisted and invited to a casting on Saturday 12 September. After a competitive walk-off, interview and test shoot, five lucky winners were selected by a panel that included Tracie Bedwood, Managing Director at Adage Models, and Kevin Breese, General Manager at Harvey Nichols Birmingham.

Harry Ashby, from Castle Bromwich, Ilona from Moseley, Chris Eaton from Coventry, and Milly Raven and Charlotte Atkinson, both from Leicester, are the victorious Midlanders who have scooped the prize. They will be signed up by leading agency Adage Models, and feature at premier fashion events including The Sunday Times Style in the City, taking place 24-26 September.

The Model Search winners will feature heavily as part of the three-day fashion and beauty extravaganza, launching collections from some of the world’s best designers, including Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood at the official Catwalk Show.

Tracie Bedwood, Managing Director of Adage Models, said:

“We had an over-whelming amount of entries for Model Search, with some really striking entrants. It was a tough selection process, but we have chosen five exciting, fresh-faced models that best represent the region’s style.

“I can’t wait to see our new models strutting down a professional runway during Style in the City next week and then again at Style Birmingham’s Style Awards in October.”

Taking place at The Mailbox and being hosted by model and TV presenter Emma Willis, the Style in the City Catwalk Show promises to bring the drama and spectacle of international runways to the heart of Birmingham. Styled by MAC Cosmetics and Francesco Group Hair Salons, the catwalk will see next season’s key trends from Birmingham’s most stylish retailers, including Bullring, Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser, M&S, Pavilions and Selfridges.
