Take to the skies with fish in a bottle and Channel 4 Education
The latest online game from Channel 4 Education has taken to the skies as part of the Bloody Foreigners season which is being broadcast this week.
The single and multiplayer online flash game, Battle of Britain: 303 Squadron has been designed and created by digital production agency fish in a bottle. It recreates a turning point in the Battle of Britain when a single squadron of Polish fighter pilots dominated the skies and changed the course of the war in favour of the Allies.
Justin Eames, Managing Director at fish in a bottle said:
“We have used a combination of stunning archive and documentary footage, photography, 3D rendering and animation to put the player in charge of their own plane during missions-it really feels as though the player is there, flying with the squadron.
“Players can experience the highs and lows of being part of the RAF or join forces with friends online to play through a series of exciting missions from World War II.”
The game takes entries from the pilots’ diaries to move players through the full story of the squadron’s formation, their training, victories and defeats leading to their ultimate betrayal by the Allies.

By the time the Battle of Britain was won, 303 Squadron had shot down 136 enemy planes, ranking them as the deadliest RAF squadron of World War II. Players of the game will be able to submit their highest scores and see how they rank with other players online.
