The Style Awards are coming…

Tomorrow night sees the annual Style Awards 2009 take place at Birmingham's Town Hall. The star-studded ceremony is being hosted by GQ Editor Dylan Jones, and will see 16 awards given to the city's most stylish people and places. The awards will see a host of celebrity guests and VIP's, including singer and TV presenter, Mica Paris, who will be performing on the night.
The Style Awards are all about what the people of Birmingham really think, and over 12,000 shoppers have voted to crown their favourite shops, bars, restaurants and celebrities via Stylebirmingham.com.

Style Awards 2009 is being organised by Retail Birmingham, with sponsorship from two of the city’s leading organisations, Advantage West Midlands and Marketing Birmingham.
Nigel Russell, Head of Tourism at Advantage West Midlands (AWM), said:
“As the region’s economic development agency, AWM has identified festivals and events as a major market growth opportunity in a tourism sector worth £6 billion a year. The retail industry is integral to the tourism sector and the Style Awards is a great opportunity to showcase the excellent, high-end offer available in Birmingham and the Heart of England region. Together with culture, food and drink and business tourism, festivals and events is an area where investment by Advantage West Midlands can make a real impact.”
Dave Hodgson, Marketing Director at Visit Birmingham, added:
“It is important that we celebrate the fantastic creative talent in Birmingham that contributes so hugely to our reputation as a major shopping destination. We hosted over 32million visitors to the city last year and the retail sector is crucial in ensuring their stay in the city is a memorable one. Visit Birmingham is proud to be part of the awards, as they recognise the hard work undertaken by the people and places involved.”
