Top Birmingham businesses support BRMB’s charity walkathon


Birmingham radio station BRMB has teamed up with Lookers Vauxhall and Cadbury World to bring back its twenty-six mile charity Walkathon on 6th June.



BRMB announced the return of the full Walkathon following listener demand. The event which takes place on Sunday 6th June is in aid of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity in Selly Oak. The charity supports soldiers who have been severely injured in the war and plans to develop rehabilitation facilities to help them cope with their new situation.

Headline sponsor Lookers Vauxhall currently has three dealerships across the city and is encouraging people to get involved by offering top Birmingham overnight stays and VXR Vauxhall track days to individuals who raise the most sponsorship money.



Cadbury World has been announced as the official partner of a new shorter Walkathon where families and young people can opt to complete two stages of the route totalling around seven miles.

BRMB’s first Walkathon took place in 1983 and its course followed the initial number 11 bus route, this year it is offering three options depending on age or fitness levels. The Junior and Family, The Half Walkathon and the Original twenty-six mile Walkathon round the Outer Circle bus route.
