West Midlands companies Say Hello to Digital Dragons

Digital companies across the West Midlands came face to face with a group of specialist investors as they entered the Digital Den - a unique event which took place at the Hello Business Conference at the ICC, Birmingham.
The process of entering the Digital Den started with companies attending a day-long, specially tailored workshop that took place at Zellig, based in the Custard Factory, Digbeth.
The participants then went face to face with investors from companies including Octopus Ventures, Advantage Business Angels and MMC Ventures Ltd at a live pitching session during the two day Hello Business conference.
The event, funded by Screen WM and Business Link West Midlands, was attended by companies from across the digital sector based in the West Midlands and included Soshi Games, All Teams and Digital2point0.

Jude Ower, Managing Director of Digital2point0, said:
“At this moment in time, we are in the process of trying to raise finance and felt it was good timing to speak to people who can advise on our pitching technique as well as make connections with people who are in a real position to invest.”
The event was led by Pembridge Partners - a team of experienced entrepreneurs and investors that help businesses grow.

Darran Foxon from Business Link West Midlands chaired the event and commented “The event promoted a very lively and encouraging debate about the perils and pitfalls of raising finance for an early-stage business. The expert panel of investors provided insightful guidance that will be of real value to the attendees as they execute their plans.”
Andy Tait, a Partner at Pembridge Partners, said:
“We were delighted to be given the opportunity by ScreenWM and Business Link to work with exciting digital and creative companies in the West Midlands.
“Right now there is great interest from investors in ambitious high growth businesses which was evident from the large investor panel that attended the day. This is good news for companies nationwide in this time of uncertainty with public sector finances.”
