Wu-Tang Clan Star is Coming to Birmingham

This October, one of hip hop’s most successful artists is coming to Birmingham as part of an exclusive tour and book launch. On 6 October, Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA will perform alongside special guests at Rainbow Warehouse to launch his second book, The Tao of Wu.
The Grammy-winning producer and de facto leader of the Wu-Tang dynasty is coming to Birmingham to launch his second book, which explores the philosophy behind one of music’s biggest groups. Utilising hip hop lyrics, autobiographical anecdotes and religious references, The Tao of Wu, explores RZA’s personal journey and outlines his ‘Seven Pillar Philosophy’.
As part of the launch, the rap legend will be performing an exclusive live set, with support from System of a Down’s Shavo Odadjian, who will be appearing as part of the Achozen Project alongside RZA and Kinetic 9. Frukwan from Gravediggaz and hotly-tipped Liverpool artist, Bang On, will also be performing.
Ammo Talwar, Director of Punch Records, said:
“This is a massive coup for the city – RZA is one of the most prominent figures in the hip hop community. To have him performing here is big news and will put Birmingham on the map. We are thrilled to be hosting and supporting the event and bringing the legend to the city.
“His latest book is set to delve into a world that has never been seen before; the personal experiences of the man himself and the true influences behind Wu-Tang Clan. This is one event not to be missed.”
The Tao of Wu promises to be a detailed exploration into Wu-Tang Clan, but also the personal enlightenment of RZA. It looks at his own influences and outlines the ‘Seven Pillars of Wisdom’, which are based on key turning points in his life.
The Tao of Wu is set to be released on 20 October by Riverhead Books.
